Looking for the startup atmosphere without the startup risk? We’re an established company that is starting up an engineering practice to build some cool new products in the consumer/residential real estate space. We'll be building a new product designed to go toe-to-toe with the big players in the space like Zillow and Redfin. As part of that, we'll be building a highly scalable application backed by a tremendous amount of data in order to deliver a rich experience and toolset to end-users.

We are looking to assemble a team of smart, humble people who are passionate about creating amazing solutions. We’ll be working in an agile fashion and creating an engineer-empowered environment where the team will have the opportunity to participate in decisions that will help us shape the future of our products and company. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who hope to work on and deliver world class software in a friendly, fun, and innovative environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Helping to build a new web product from scratch
  • Enhancing the capabilities and feature sets of our existing properties
  • Building out RESTful APIs
  • Processing, analyzing and normalizing vast quantities of data

  • Working with the VP of Engineering to shape our engineering team and culture

You should be:

  • A master of at least one object-oriented language (Java, Python, PHP, C++, etc.)
  • A guru of at least one web application framework (Spring, Django, Symfony, Rails, etc.)
  • A version control junkie
  • A proponent of agile (Scrum in particular)
  • Proficient with working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Familiar with test-driven development
  • Mystery box averse, having a desire to understand how and why things work (or don’t)
  • Eager to learn new things and experiment
  • Passionate.

You get bonus points for:

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM field.
  • Experience working with large volumes of data and/or users
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or TravisCI
  • Knowledge of system configuration tools like Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
  • Mobile experience (responsive, native apps, anything really)

What we offer:

  • A friendly, collaborative team with which to work
  • A relaxed environment - leave your suits and ties at home
  • Competitive salary
  • PTO, paid holidays, etc.
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical/Dental/Vision insurance
  • A ping-pong table
  • Plenty of coffee and snacks
  • An all-important, icy cold keg of craft beer
