As a Principal Consultant Business Analyst (Multiple Positions), here’s what you can do at ThoughtWorks:

Lead large-scale, custom-designed, enterprise-level software applications that utilize object-oriented (OO) technologies, such as Ruby, .NET and/or J2EE and Agile Methodologies; implement full lifecycle software solution experience using object-oriented technologies; work with clients and stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements and present them to development and test teams; provide expertise in the area of business case development; design, communicate and implement effective and efficient client story interview and processes, lead iteration meetings and drive user stories for development; facilitate workshops and sessions that generate content for solutions and gain buy in for solution; provide guidance in identifying and analyzing current governance structures, business processes and business information flows; manage weekly meetings with User Experience experts to run tests and establish solutions that fit within development capacity and release plans; collaborate with Quality Analysts to write automation tests and scenarios for functional/interface level tests; employ Agile Development Methodologies and Practices including pair programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery; utilize Distributed Agile including acting as liaison to coordinate communication between onshore and offshore teams; utilize the following technologies: Java, Ruby, Ruby on Rails and Cucumber; orchestrate the collaboration between, Product Owner, Business Sponsors, SMEs, Testers and Development groups by removing roadblocks and facilitating communication; provide leadership and facilitation in the oversight, guidance and resolution of analysis, scope, requirements and process issues; identify skills/domain knowledge deficiencies in a team and work with the Delivery Principal to fill the gaps and mitigate risks; enable and mature the Business Analysis team through assignment and responsible skill development opportunities; and, create and support sales activities.

Here's what you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or a related quantitative field, and 10 years of related IT consultant experience.
  • Prior experience with:

  1. Full life-cycle software solution experience using object-oriented technologies, including requirements gathering, development and testing;
  2. Prioritizing competing demands and obtaining buy in from stakeholders;
  3. Managing and resolving conflict with stakeholders;
  4. Serving as point of contact interacting with clients and stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements and present them to development and test teams;
  5. Modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques; experience explaining issues from both a technical and business functional point of view;
  6. Collaborating with product managers to write stories, lead iteration meetings and drive user stories for development; facilitating daily stand up meetings, story sign off sessions and feature showcases;
  7. Coordinating weekly meetings with User Experience experts to run tests and establish solutions that fit within development capacity and release plans;
  8. Collaborating with Quality Analysts to write automation tests and scenarios for functional/interface level tests; planning release schedules;
  9. Employing Agile Development Methodologies and Practices including pair programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery;
  10. Utilizing Distributed Agile including acting as liaison to coordinate communication between onshore and offshore teams;
  11. Utilizing the following technologies: Java, Ruby, Ruby on Rails and Cucumber.

At least 80% travel throughout the U.S. required
