About The Position

 

Raise is looking for a user-centered designer who has a passion for creating exceptional user experiences, understands e-commerce, and can translate qualitative and quantitative data into useful and usable experiences. As a product designer you will work as part of the Raise UX team, collaborating with product managers, UX designers as well as other product designers. You will be expected to contribute to designs that shape the future direction of Raise products, services and policies.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Create digital product solutions for responsive web applications that delight and empower users

  • Solve complex interaction design challenges

  • Work with UX designers to understand our customers needs based on real-world context

  • Receive high-level direction and deliver on detailed prototypes, wireframes, and visual compositions to communicate your ideas and test with users

  • Use findings and design direction from user research to create designs that satisfy user goals and optimize engagement

  • Develop visual comps, wireframes and process flows

  • Champion great ideas verbally and through design artifacts that clearly communicate those ideas

  • Participate in design workshop sessions and create multiple concepts around a given set of requirements

  • Have an expert sense of composition, typography, color theory, responsive web design and e-commerce best practices

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years experience in UI & visual design for e-commerce businesses including responsive web design and mobile applications

  • Formal degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Considerate of modular design to facilitate product improvement over phases

  • Takes initiative, persistent, self-motivated and can manage multiple projects simultaneously in an Agile development environment

  • Collaborates effectively in multi-disciplinary team environments

  • Understands limitations and capabilities of desktop browsers, mobile devices, and presentation layer technologies

  • Strong portfolio featuring design work that showcases user interface design, interaction design, information design, visual design and mobile design skills

  • An undeniable passion for creating great user interfaces that solve real user problems

  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, careful attention to detail, and ability to grasp complex, nuanced product requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly articulate design decisions with stakeholders and development teams, and keep UX and project team leads up to date

  • Know your way around Adobe Creative Suite
