The role in a nutshell

Retrofit is looking for a Product Manager to develop innovative mobile and web solutions for our clients, coaches and customers that will grow our business, increase user engagement and outcomes, improve our efficiency and ensure a foundation for scale. You will work cross-functionally and be responsible for translating market needs to product requirements and delivering the products that will shape our future.

What you’ll do

  • Reporting to VP Marketing and Product Management, help create a vision for the future of our products that inspires our organization and informs our future innovation roadmap to ensure that  Retrofit achieves its business goals
  • Research, identify and analyze market, customer and client opportunities and translate into innovation strategies and product projects
  • Oversee a portfolio of product management projects end to end including:  prioritization, development, testing, deployment and post-analysis
  • Effectively document and communicate product requirements and partner with development to define, build and evolve our product
  • Develop high level and detailed project plans for each product project, overseeing delivery of milestones to ensure projects stay on track and effectively communicating changes in scope and critical metrics to stakeholders including the executive team
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional team members and leaders including Product, Operations and Development executive team members, local and off-shore Development team members, UX designer, Protocol leads, Marketing, Data Scientist and Account Management
  • Leverage technical acumen to lead discussions and negotiate trade offs with Development team
  • Drive the product innovation processes and development discipline across the organization enhancing processes and tools to improve speed and reduce/eliminate rework
  • Create and maintain detailed product documents
  • Support marketing in development of new product messaging, training and launches
  • Assist with customer presentations in role of product expert
  • Contribute to Retrofit’s culture and live values

What you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in computer science, engineering or related technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience in a web-based software company
  • Demonstrated experience developing software products and bringing to market
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business, customer and user needs into innovation opportunities and product requirements
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and user empathy/ insight skills
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Collaborative cross-functional partner team builder
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to drive definition and clarity
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • Creative, entrepreneurial and flexible

  • Experience with products for mobile devices (smart phones, text, activity devices)
  • Experience with health and wellness industry and products
  • Experience developing social, gamified, and/or highly experiential products
