bswift is currently seeking an experienced Product Manager – Analytics & Reporting  for a full-time position at our headquarters in Chicago, IL.

The Product Manager – Analytics & Reporting will be responsible for the evolution of bswift’s new Analytics and Reporting products. Bswift is in the process of re-architecting these products using the latest technologies, from the ground up; from data storage and processing through a user-friendly interface for report definition and execution.  Plus, there will be opportunities to mine our data across all of our clients to find new and creative ways to deliver value.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Quickly develop an understanding of all functional areas of the system, and what information is needed by our clients (enrollments, plan details, employee information, client setup, Affordability Care Act requirements).
  • Document and maintain a medium-term product roadmap, and present to the business leadership group to get their buy-in on priorities. Be a champion for a solution that delivers the most value to our clients.
  • Provide information and feedback to technical and database architects to ensure the solution balances usability, flexibility, and performance.
  • Document product specifications (functional and technical), communicate them to developers and DBA’s, and manage the implementation process.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the User Experience/Design team to ensure the solution is intuitive and easy to use.
  • Investigate issues where reports/analytics aren’t giving expected results, and write up requirements for fixes.
  • Work with the client services team to adjust prioritizations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of product management experience, from strategy through implementation and rollout.
  • Strong T-SQL skills (3+ years of hands-on experience with moderately-complex SQL code), for analysis, testing, and issue investigation.
  • Strong knowledge of general database design concepts – such as denormalization, indexing, and ETL.
  • 3+ years of experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.), and how Analytics can be used to deliver value
  • Solid general technology experience (Web front-end vs. back-end, batch processing)
  • Familiarity with data warehouse design concepts (star schemas, dimensions/measures)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate at different levels to different audiences – functional and technical, leadership and peers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related field.
  • Excellent teamwork skills

Personal Traits

Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment. A willingness to roll-up the sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done is essential. Must be passionate about building a world-class solution, but have an understanding where compromises need to be made.  The ability to work well both individually as well as with others and strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships successfully in a cross-functional team environment is critical for this position. Demonstrated experience showing resourcefulness, a strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on commitments with minimal supervision are required.
