As the Product Marketing Specialist on our Product Team, you will be an important part of the product marketing function at Sprout Social and contribute to the growth of the company. The Product Marketing team at Sprout Social is aligned with the Product Team and works closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to ensure we’re telling the best possible stories to position our platform and solutions in a competitive marketplace.

As a Product Marketing Specialist, you understand the social business marketplace and have experience with B2B tech or software marketing. You posses the desire and capacity to garner a deep product knowledge while understanding the need to zoom out and tell concrete, compelling, benefit-focused stories about our platform and solutions. Your skills are part creative, part analytical and always centered around delivering relevant content that enhances our brand.

Sprout Social deeply and inherently understands the purpose of Product Marketing as a business function and the importance it plays in product awareness, demand generation and feature adoption. As a product marketer, you will dive into the work from day one – focusing particularly on creating value-driven product positioning, developing go-to-market strategies and working cross-functionally to execute integrated product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sr. Product Marketing Manager to implement integrated initiatives and product marketing campaigns
  • Align to overall product strategy and interact day-to-day with internal teams including product management, marketing, sales, creative, account management, support and others
  • Work closely with Product Managers on integrated marketing launches around platform enhancements, updated features and new Sprout tools
  • Develop go-to-market strategy and contribute to integrated marketing launches both tactically and in a project management capacity
  • Ensure consistency of product positioning and messaging across various channels and campaigns
  • Work with Sales Enablement to ensure they have everything they need to tell compelling stories about the Sprout platform
  • Collaborate with Product Education to plan and administer internal training sessions for Sales and Support to communicate platform enhancements, updated features and new Sprout tools
  • Identify and understand various customer segments across diverse audiences and industry/vertical categories
  • Work with Customer Success and Marketing to build lasting customer relationships that can be highlighted in various marketing and sales initiatives
  • Tell compelling client stories in the form of customer references, case studies, client videos, and testimonials
  • Monitor competitive marketplace and identify market trends/gaps; then, communicate knowledge across internal teams
  • Work in tandem with marketing team (search, social, email, pr, etc.) to leverage opportunities across appropriate channels
  • Be in tune and stay on top of industry trends and general product marketing best practices

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You have 3-5 years experience in product marketing/marketing.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related degree.
  • You have exceptional writing, grammar and communications skills.
  • You have the ability to prioritize and manage projects against deadlines while also responding well to shifting priorities in an industry that moves fast and changes often.
  • You are able to understand and translate technology offerings or product solutions into compelling messages and stories.
  • You have a proper understanding of and experience in managing key marketing and product-related initiatives.
  • You are comfortable with data analysis (Excel and Salesforce proficiency are big pluses) and have qualitative and quantitative market research skills.
  • You are comfortable with public speaking - required for both internal (training) and external (customer or industry focused) events.
  • You pay ridiculous attention to detail and produce high quality work.
  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where innovation, speed of decisionmaking and execution are critical to success.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) from a business use-case perspective desired.
  • Experience with B2B tech or software marketing a big plus.
  • Experience working with software sales and support teams also a plus.
