Job Description
Role Summary
This Risk Management role supports credit risk policy for consumer loans. It includes development of innovative risk strategies and requires an ability to work closely with business partners in Marketing, Operations, Finance and Business Technology. Developing creative risk strategies for the product and leading these ideas to fruition with business partners is a primary criterion for success. This role offers a significant and challenging opportunity for the right person looking to apply existing skills while also providing extensive opportunities to further develop a broad range of Risk Management capabilities within a large scale financial services firm.
Key deliverables
Operate as a subject matter expert on consumer loan portfolio.
Develop and maintain credit risk policy for the consumer loan product, including list selection and underwriting risk criteria and procedures.
Proactively monitor acquisition and performance metrics and advise management of trends and recommend applicable actions/corrective solutions.
Lead and support acquisition system testing and acquisition-related ad-hoc projects.
Discover promotes a risk-aware culture and ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
Skills
Minimum Master's degree required in Economics, Engineering, or MBA with emphasis in quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics, etc.)
2-3 year minimum, professional experience within the credit card or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of industry practices and performance measurements.
Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of complex high-profile projects.
Detail oriented with aptitude to implement quality controls throughout work processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work well with minimal direction. Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills required.
High degree of proficiency with statistical software and other analytical tools, especially SAS & SQL.
