Public Relations Manager
Yapmo is seeking a creative and hard-working Public Relations Manager to get in early and play a pivotal role for our Marketing & PR team. Yapmo is a rapidly growing enterprise software startup that simplifies corporate communication and workflow to promote collaboration and productivity. Founded by software veterans and backed by top investors, Yapmo offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. This position reports to the Director of Marketing, and the office is located one block off Randolph Street in the lively West Loop in Chicago.
Your responsibilities:
Partner with the Director of Marketing and our Public Relations agency to develop an overall PR strategy for Yapmo and sub-strategies for each target vertical.
Research, craft, and execute pitch angles in conjunction with the Marketing team and our Public Relations agency.
Write and issue press releases and related materials.
Create content for the company blog, email marketing campaigns, and social media.
Help shape and implement the voice of Yapmo.
Build out editorial calendar, strategies, and tactics with the Marketing team. Execute against them.
Keep the internal team apprised of industry trends and news.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, industry influencers, and other partners by keeping them up to date on the latest news.
Identify community superstars within each target vertical and foster them as Yapmo evangelists.
Measure results and deliver ongoing analysis for all public relations strategies.
Capture learnings, curate best practices, and engage the rest of the team about these results.

Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university with a concentration in marketing, communication, or business
2+ years of public relations or marketing experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Mastery of leading (and emerging) social media platforms
Ability to leverage existing contacts with relevant trades and publications.
Impeccable attention to detail and great organization
Strategic PR savvy and startup hustle
Computer literate and tech savvy with a good understanding of SaaS, cloud-based software, and enterprise collaboration tools
Have example campaigns/content/creative projects to share
SaaS or B2B experience is a plus
