Reporting to the Revenue Manager, this role is responsible for customer contract administration, invoicing, and analysis of revenue and cash collection at SilkRoad, a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company. The right candidate for this position will have a sharp eye for details, a drive to create efficient processes, and a positive approach to personal interactions. This role requires skills related to accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and customer service.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyzes customer contracts and ensures appropriate recognition of revenue and commissions.
  • Reviews and sends customer invoices and statements.
  • Analyzes customer revenue and contract renewal information and reports outcomes and trends to management.
  • Responds to customer questions about contracts, invoices, and services; creates a positive customer experience with every interaction.
  • Prepares schedules and documents for annual financial audit.
  • Performs cash application and customer collections.
  • Documents processes and implements improvements and controls.
  • Uses technology to work efficiently as an individual and a team member.
  • Prepares additional analysis and reports, and other special projects, as requested.
Required Skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an ability to understand, analyze and summarize large amounts of information.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition accounting rules for software and technology companies.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative working style with a desire to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Candidates working towards a CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ accounting experience, preferably in revenue and / or accounts receivable.
  • Experience working in a subscription based organization or technology company desirable.
