Sales Engineer, Renewable Energy at Uptake

What You Do:

As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as a key wind and technology expert on Uptake’s Renewable Energy sales team. You will help to pursue new market opportunities and foster deep customer relationships, removing technical obstacles and managing the human impact of our solutions. You’ll also work cross-functionally with customers, colleagues, and the market to identify and understand challenges and help deliver solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and continually refresh the knowledge and skills to demonstrate the technical capabilities of Uptake products and services, and capture complex technical requirements from existing and potential customers
  • Collaborate with Uptake technical teams to ensure efficient integration with customer systems, and to support product implementation on deadline
  • Identify market and customer needs to improve and upgrade products, services, and commercial strategies, and inform internal teams of problems that may impact customer and prospect satisfaction, as well as competitive offerings
  • Develop and implement strategies to assess and qualify inbound partnership inquiries; to attract, capture, and cultivate customers; and to strengthen existing and potential customer relationships
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and account plans, and prepare collateral and proposals
  • Work closely with prospects to identify their key value drivers and effectively communicate outcomes that can be achieved using Uptake’s solutions
  • Monitor compliance with contract provisions and clauses, informing internal stakeholders of identified risks and mitigation strategies to anticipate and address customer concerns

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be an independent thinker comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a rapidly expanding technology organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (preferred)
  • 5+ years of wind industry experience, including a mix of sales and technical roles with increasing responsibility
  • Strong understanding of concepts and technologies behind big data and predictive analytics, predictive maintenance, and the Industrial Internet of Things as they apply to the windpower industry
  • Problem solver with strong analytical ability and excellent business judgment
  • Ability to learn new concepts and domains quickly
  • Organized, highly motivated individual with excellent project management and presentation skills
  • A collaborative mindset, and a record of building successful relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including around complex technical concepts
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, sense of humor, and the passion to help create the energy system of the future
