We are seeking an individual to join our fast paced, Agile Engineering team located in Chicago (West Loop).  The candidate we are seeking is a Scrum Master which will contribute to helping our Agile Teams. 

What you’ll do as a Scrum Master

  • Take full ownership of the scrum process (Daily's, Refinement, Planning,etc) of all the collocated and distributed teams.

  • Help all teams increase productivity and keep customers are satisfied

  • Morality & motivation of the teams continuously improve and it is reflected in the retrospective document.

  • Help teams achieve KPIs

  • Release planning meetings take place for the major projects the teams are working on

  • Remove promptly 100% of team’s impediments

  • Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders and management

  • Supports and educates the Product Owner(s), especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.

  • Actively participate in the SM community sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent field

  • Requires existing or planned Scrum Master certification/ PMP/ CAPM

  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a collocated and distributed software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

  • Be technical savvy, familiar with software development life cycle, terms and technologies (Ex: Databases, Web Servers, etc)

  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

  • Be passionate about Agile and believe that it will make teams as efficient as possible and will produce best results

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills with proven ability to escalate and remove impediments from the team

  • Attention to detail and concern for quality and accuracy of final product (and ability to balance that concern with deadlines)

  • Experience and understanding of challenges related to Agile transformation and proven success of implementing these tactics

  • Ability to adapt with-in a rapidly changing environment

  • Outstanding decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to foresee potential conflict and bring existing conflicts to positive resolution

  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams of individuals to improve their abilities

  • Understanding of how to coach teams as opposed to managing them

  • Familiar with JIRA is a plus
