Senior Accountant

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Manage the monthly close and reporting process for revenue; review all processes to assure treatment is in accordance with GAAP
· Manage financial internal control processes and operational areas to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley and all other statutory requirements.
· Lead the implementation of the needed software and processes to comply with the new revenue recognition guidance.
· Review invoices prepared by staff in order to ensure they are accurate
· Run weekly reports to provide information to the executive team and assist with collections efforts.
· General accounting assistance including account reconciliations, journal entries, and billing / payable data entry.
· Analyzing sales transactions to ensure proper allocation of revenue recognition policies.
· Providing necessary support for external auditors for financial statement review, audit and SOX Compliance.
· Assisting with and running special projects as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimal Skills & Qualifications
· 5 years in accounting or auditing professional role
· Thorough knowledge and experience in the areas of financial statement preparation, GAAP, SOX, and revenue recognition
· Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while still operating with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a deadline driven and fast paced environment
· Experience working independently and in a team environment
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
· CPA strongly preferred
· Software or SAAS company experience
· Strong sense of ownership on issues and following through to completion
· Experience with advanced accounting systems, Intacct a plus (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, NetSuite, Intacct, etc.)
· Demonstrates analytical and problem solving skills
· Self-starter, quick learner, and ability to multi-task on a regular basis with a positive attitude towards contributing and continual learning
