As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for contributing to kCura’s day-to-day and month-end accounting activities, specifically focusing on supporting all aspects of the revenue, commissions, cash, and financial reporting cycles. The Senior Staff Accountant works under general direction of managers and senior team members.

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts to assess and apply proper revenue recognition accounting treatment
• Assist with technical accounting research and prepare policy memorandums
• Calculate monthly employee commissions
• Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to accrued revenue and accrued commissions
• Prepare regular account reconciliations and perform ad hoc account analyses
• Support the mid-month and month-end closing reporting process
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis
• Perform cash operation duties, specifically the application of cash receipts
• Support the customer collections process
• Prepare multi-state Sales and Use tax returns
• Assist with implementation of controls surrounding the revenue cycle
• Assist with special projects and take on additional accounting responsibilities as they arise

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
• Currently a senior accountant or at least three years of experience as staff level accountant

Preferred Qualifications:
• Licensed CPA is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of GAAP and familiarity of revenue recognition guidelines
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented and works well in a fast-paced environment
• Exercise good judgment, respect colleagues, and work with integrity
• Ability to quickly learn new technology; experience with Intacct, Adaptive Insights, Xactly, and SalesForce a plusAbout Us
