Civis Analytics is building a data-driven world.

We are building cloud-based products to help organizations do data science better and easier. We create technologies that empower organizations to unlock the truth hiding in their own data—transforming them into smart organizations that are ready to thrive.

We're solving the world's biggest problems with big data. Through research, experimentation, and iteration, we’re transforming how organizations do analytics.

While our history is rooted in political campaign targeting, we’re now partnering with intelligent organizations in healthcare, media, education, and a range of other domains.

We are a community of engineers, data scientists, and statisticians, and are looking to add to our growing team. We are smart, fun, and a little bit weird. Does this sound like you?

Senior Applied Data Scientist - Census at Civis Analytics
The Applied Data Science (ADS) team is the advisory arm of Civis Analytics, working closely with companies, nonprofits, and campaigns to help solve their toughest challenges with data science.
The Civis ADS Team leads Civis’s involvement in the multi-firm Census Integrated Communications Team, which supports all outreach, marketing and advertising conducted in support of the 2020 Decennial Census. As part of this team, Civis works closely with our partners to develop the data analytics that drive all aspects of Communications strategy, as the US Census Bureau strives to ensure that as many Americans as possible self-respond to the Census, and that all segments of the US population understand the importance of participation. The US Decennial Census, conducted every 10 years since 1790, is one of the most critical and long-standing projects in the US government - the Census count is used to apportion seats in the US House of Representatives, and to distribute more than $400 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year.

Senior Applied Data Scientists structure difficult problems, analyze large data sets, build predictive models, collaborate in cross-functional teams, create and deliver presentation materials, and manage the completion of client projects. In particular, this role will serve in a senior role on our Census 2020 team, in which you will be a key member of the team designing and building creative predictive modeling solutions for the Census Integrated Communications Team. As a part of Civis’s multidisciplinary Census 2020 team, you will work across our engineering, social science, and data research teams, and have the support of our company’s 100+ data scientists and engineers to help bring cutting-edge predictive analytics to this important undertaking.

We’ve hired individuals from a wide range of backgrounds: consultants, academics, and everything in between. We value creativity, hard work, and a proven track record of consistent excellence. Because of the unique security needs of this client, all persons hired will be required to be US citizens.
