Want to build up your portfolio of work at a booming Chicago tech company?
We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter with integrated agency experience and a thorough grasp of online products and marketplaces – someone who understands how to open up a dialogue between the consumer and the brand. You need to be a well-rounded writer, able to quickly grasp our voice and vision and apply it to our multidisciplinary ventures, creating and executing amazing ideas in both marketing and product copy in B2B and B2C environments.

Reporting to our VP Creative Director, you will work closely with our product and marketing teams to help create online and offline advertising, website and app copy, video and pre-roll spots, social media content, events, email, promotions and experiential, and other consumer and trade materials. We’re a nimble and scrappy team, and you’ll be touching it all.

Read on to see how you can grow with an established and stellar team at a company on the verge of rapid growth…
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Help create engaging, smart and intuitive copy for everything ParkWhiz. Our website and mobile app. Online and offline advertising. Print and B2B collateral. Digital banners. Emails for new product features and customer alerts. Merchandising and POS. If it’s copy that aims to communicate our brand and initiatives in a fun, clear and compelling way...you’re leading it. And bringing everyone along with you.
  • Continuously challenge yourself to make our communications better and more engaging, demonstrating writing integrity in your work, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure all communications are true to the ParkWhiz brand and vision.
  • Work with creative, product and marketing teams to help develop concepts that are both strategic and highly creative. You’ll be working with Designers and User Experience to connect dots.
  • Write smart, intuitive and witty copy and content that keeps our friends and fans engaged while attracting new fans and friends.
  • Quickly develop copy for all of our products – website, mobile app, operator-facing tools and whatever we come up with next. Establish messaging frameworks to support launch of products and services across platforms and channels.
  • Develop your managerial skills by overseeing a wide array of projects. You will own projects and timelines, and provide feedback to designers and other copywriters, ensuring all of our Creative work is on-brand and on-strategy.
  • Have a willingness to pitch in wherever and whenever you’re needed. We’re a nimble team, and you must be willing to dive in. Since there are mediums and projects not captured in the points above, consider this the catchall. You’ll be writing and editing a wide range of materials.
You Need to Be/Have:
  • Able to write. Bachelor’s degree in some branch of creative writing, literature or journalism.
  • Agency-based or e-commerce tech company writing experience. Five plus years is ideal.
  • Stylistically malleable. We have defined a brand tone, and you need to be able to fit with our established company voice for both our B2C and B2B comms.
  • Educated on best practices of user experience and marketing. Able to display an understanding and appreciation of how copy and design play off each other.
  • Knowledgeable in the ways of grammar and an able editor. Understanding of AP style, while not required, would be appreciated.
  • Thorough understanding and interest in culture, trends, consumer technology, what the next big thing is and where we should be playing. You know how to write copy that converts.
  • Ready to juggle multiple projects at once, often with tight deadlines. We move very fast here, so expert time management is a must.
  • Full of ideas that we can connect to our strategic objectives while remaining relevant, fun, and on-brand.
  • A team player with an agreeable disposition. The role requires you to work with a lot of people in a lot of different ways.
  • A sense of humor.
Your Strengths Are:
  • Writing. You’re a fantastic writer with a creative mind that keeps one eye on strategy.
  • Flexibility. You’re able to work in fast-moving and fluid team environment while remaining focused and calm under tight deadlines. Your work is amazing, but not too precious or inflexible.
  • Attention to detail. You’re a vigilant editor that won’t let even a minor typo out the door.
  • Communication. You’ll present and explain your own work and provide feedback to other members of the Creative team on a daily basis.
  • Curiosity. You’re eager to experiment to improve your work and creative output.
  • Energy. You’re energized by the challenges inherent in working for a fast-moving company and the opportunity to leave your mark on an exploding brand.
