GrubHub’s footprint in operations is rapidly expanding, and as we do so, we will need to dig deep into all areas of data: Finance, Operations, Diner / Restaurant Experience, Marketing.  If looking at a massive smorgasborg of data to help sustainably grow a business is what interests you, this is the job for you.  Be prepared to work across all functions and guide the senior leadership and strategic decision with modeling and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Strong analysis skills. Must be able to talk with business users and help them get the data they need to solve their problems.  They'll know what they want but they may need you to translate biz talk to tech talk.

• This is an agile environment built upon collaboration skills.  You'll need to demonstrate these skills and use them on a daily basis.

• You'll develop skills necessary to build routines to extract data from operational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc) and transform the data to easily understood business views.

• Work with our business teams and help them use data to better manage their departments and optimize their processes

• You should be totally pumped about taking raw data and dumping it into a pivot table.

• Learning new technologies will be part of your job - like learning to script in multiple languages or becoming fluent in the big data technologies.

• And, we’ll want you to be able to teach other people

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Technology, Science, Math, Statistics degrees preferred

• 5+ years of related experience in tech oriented company

• Exquisite data analysis skills

• Impeccable communication skills

• E-Commerce experience a plus

• Ability to effortlessly navigate through the most complicated of SQL queries 

• Experience with Open source Databases (MySql, Postgres etc.)

• Linux experience a plus

• Strong history of Data Reporting, a plus and Data Warehouse / Data marts reporting a bigger plus
