ABOUT THE ROLE:

ShopRunner is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Data Quality Engineer to join our talented engineering team. Our stack is primarily Python and Java, with JavaScript on the front-end, and mobile apps written in both Objective-C and Swift. So expertise in any or all of these areas is a strong plus. The only absolute requirement is a solid grasp of software engineering principles, knowledge of test automation best practices, and a willingness to learn new things.

ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Define and implement a test strategy around data quality
• Write and execute test plans and test cases
• Champion the quality of our products. Document and debug software issues.
• Participate in the Agile process as part of a cross-functional engineering team, coordinating with product owners and engineers.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineers across teams to develop quality best practices
• Identify automation candidates and work with the team to develop test automation

ABOUT WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Extensive experience with databases and SQL
• Experience testing view, service, and data layers of an application
• Experience with Python and/or Java
• Self-driven actively looks for ways to add value and knows how to get things done
• Proven track record working independently to develop complex test strategies
• Experience with data engineering a plus
• Experience with Big Data a plus
• Has good verbal communication and reasoning skills, including the ability to make a case for testability and testing technology in our code
