About Trunk Club Tech

We're building the future of retail and creating meaningful relationships at scale. Our stack consists of lightweight single-responsibility apps, advanced Javascript MV*-powered front-ends, graph databases and machine learning. We strive to create amazing user experiences for users both internal and external.

We are polyglots, using the best tool for the problem at hand. You’ll see languages and technologies like Ruby, Sidekiq, ES6, React, PostgreSQL with hstore and json, Sinatra, Kafka, Redis, Swift, Android, Docker, Ansible, and Elasticsearch. We make extensive use of AWS with the goal of having software-defined everything.

Most importantly we want developers and leaders that have a keen business sense and an entrepreneurial attitude. We work directly with the business to build solutions that solve real problems and want engineers that can thrive in an environment where you’re in the driver’s seat to create something amazing.

Who You Are

You know the ins and outs of moving an application from development to testing to production. You’re comfortable building software solutions and systems – and love the value created in the business by doing so. You fully understand that DevOps is more about collaboration and culture and not just infrastructure as code. We welcome new ideas and technologies – you’ll be critical in deciding technologies and strategies to scale our workloads, be highly available and handle disaster. You're comfortable working in an agile and rapid environment where you are given lots of autonomy with matching responsibility.

Everyone on the Trunk Club tech team yearns to get their hands dirty in technical projects. DevOps has the privilege of being able to do so from development to production.

  • Extensive experience with tools for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure safely and efficiently
  • Designing and implementing scaling strategies to efficiently allocate compute resources

  • You'd feel like a fish out of water without a well-defined traditional corporate structure

  • You're accustomed to using the phrase "it's not part of my job description"

Please DO apply if:

  • You’ve got a ton of experience but are willing to continue to grow and learn on the job
  • You're a closer - not just a manager, a coordinator, or an idea person - but someone who loves to get stuff done, and done well (done means in production)
  • You are a “go-to” person because you're reliable, creative, resourceful, a good decision maker, and generally one of the most capable people amongst your peers
  • You're articulate, persuasive, and a good listener
