DESCRIPTION

This position is a lead front-­end engineer/design position, meaning that you will be expected to take charge of your area of the product and create work plans to execute, complete with time and difficulty expectations as related to the future sprint. As we grow, you could find yourself managing junior developers and QA staff. The majority of responsibilities will be development-focused, but you should also be experienced with front-end design workflows. The ideal candidate would have a solid understanding and ability to integrate the two.

Ideal candidates would be proficient with:

  • Languages: HTML5 / CSS3, Javascript / jQuery, CoffeeScript, D3.js
  • Frameworks: BackboneJS, Bootstrap 2 / 3
  • Version control: Git
  • Design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Invision

Even better candidates would be:

  • Familiar with Scala
  • Familiar with the Play 2 Framework

Areas of responsibility encompass all front-­end ­related work and include:

  • Front­end defects and bugs
  • Building out and maintaining all front­end markup, css, and javascript
  • Implementing and maintaining a code pattern library
  • Management of front­-end related tasks using Asana
  • Participation in evaluating/planning new feature requests
  • Ownership of cross­browser compatibility for all new/existing features
  • Work with director of design to create development-ready mockup

NOTE: All candidates will be subject to a technical assessment in the early stages of the interview process.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar degree
  • Experience in HTML/HTML5, CSS3, Javascript

Compensation: 70-90k based on experience
