The Impact Lab is seeking a front end developer to join its growing Chicago-based team. We are a data science shop that works on projects in fields such as energy, health, and community development. Our clients are nonprofits, governments, foundations, and others working for social good.

In addition to a number of ongoing client engagements with a front-end component, we are developing a suite of data gathering and health information management tools for humanitarian relief workers. We’re looking for a Senior Front End Developer to help lead these efforts.

Experience and Skills:

• 3-5 years experience in front end development, preferably Django.
• Experience with JavaScript data visualization libraries such as D3.js.
• Attention to detail within design production.
• Passionate about user experience.
• Strong understanding of browser/device capabilities and limitations.
• Experience with Responsive Web Development techniques.
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly git.
• Ability to support peer developers.
• Ability to follow and add to a pattern library or style guide.
• Interested in staying current by applying new technologies and best practices.
• Able to work in a collaborative environment and a willing to share your ideas.

• Experience in full stack development.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
