The Senior Java Backend Developer will be an integral part of Ora's growing backend development team. Whether it's imagining and building scalable systems for our clients or helping our team to better our existing development process, your impact will be very visible throughout the agency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Being part of a team of amazing full stack web developers

• Writing exceptional code using MVC platforms

• Creating scalable software and systems

• Helping to set and maintain quality standards in systems development

• Designing RESTful APIs and managing multiple backend systems

• Being part of a small team in an agile environment

 

REQUIREMENTS

WHAT TECHNICAL SKILLS YOU'LL NEED

• 4+ years developing web, API, and Java backend systems

• Experience architecting scalable systems and RESTful API interfaces

• Excellent knowledge of design patterns, best-practices, and testing interfaces

YOUR TOOLS OF THE TRADE

• Language: Java

• Frameworks: Spring

• Build Systems: Gradle

• DBs: PostgreSQL

• Source Control: Github - Git Flow branching model with either CLI or GUI tools

• Knowledge of another JVM language, such as Kotlin, Scala, Groovy or Clojure is a plus

• Leadership experience while working with junior resources

• Native-level English communication skills
