ABOUT THE ROLE
Seeking an experienced public relations expert who will play an instrumental role in establishing Trunk Club in its key markets, in additional to growing brand awareness for the business on a national scale. This individual will be essentially building the PR function, processes and strategy from the ground up and will be responsible for managing partnerships, social and the holistic PR strategy in the context of an integrated marketing plan. The PR Manager will have up to two direct reports.


ResponsibilitiesThe Public Relations Manager will play a key role within the marketing team developing brand awareness through PR strategy including social, partnerships and traditional media relations.


Duties include



  • Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness

  • Identify key media outlets

  • Develop compelling story angles

  • Cultivate relationships with key business journalists in national and trade publications

  • Pitch stories to both national and local media. Achieve highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets

  • Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-lined articles

  • Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities

  • Proactively manage editorial calendars.

  • Analyze and measure results of PR programs

  • Manage budgets and campaign ROI


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 5-7 years relevant experience in public relations and communications

  • Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities

  • Experience with social media, paid and organic.

  • Proven successes in both traditional and interactive PR channels

  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy

  • A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both manage AND execute programs

  • Knowledge of international publications and opportunities is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Solid writing skills (writing samples required upon receipt of resume)

  • BS/BA Degree


Additional Skills:



  • Proficiency with basic computer and PR applications including Cision, Sysomos, Meltwater, CatchPole, Google

  • Docs and News Alerts, MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
