 The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the designing and maintaining of GoHealth’s local and wide area networks. Network engineering will work closely with development and other business units to support and scale our products and to ensure 24/7 up-time of our critical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and support all network related hardware and software, including firewalls, routers, switches and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Administer existing network infrastructure and perform maintenance activities on production hardware and software.
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risks and associated technical countermeasure.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve and document network issues within the company network in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with other teams to facilitate the deployment of new systems and projects as they relate to the network architecture.
  • Build, maintain, and audit all LAN, and WAN related documentation as it relates to configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, administration manuals, and support contacts.
  • Perform vulnerability testing, hardening, and audits of key systems and network devices.
  • Mentor and train other team members in key areas of the data and voice networks.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, or CCNP
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco internetworks, routing and switching and related protocols, LAN/WAN, Security, firewalls.
  • Experience with Cisco N5k and N2k data center switching.
  • Ability to support BGP routing
  • Hands on experience with F5 LTM load balancer administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience automating routine tasks using Python or similar language
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, RADIUS, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, PKI, IPSec VPNs, and other core networking services
  • Experience supporting large volume call center VOIP implementations a big plus
  • Able to work independently, manage, and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks
  • 5+ years of experience as a network engineer supporting above-mentioned
