• Plan for the growth of ActiveCampaign’s infrastructure
• Design, build and maintain the core infrastructure used by ActiveCampaign’s engineering teams
• Debug production issues at all levels of the stack

• Provisioning a bare metal mail server
• Designing and implementing full text search design for Elasticsearch
• Improving our deployment system to include more robust deployment choices with both a web interface and cli tools
• Setting up a Kubernetes cluster for new micro services being deployed
• Using terraform to setup a new VPC in AWS with appropriate security
• Performance tuning queries for MySQL
• Designing robust database failover and rebalancing
• Creating Chef recipes for legacy apps that need to be managed in our CI/CD pipeline
• Implementing a testing framework for Chef and Terraform

• Think about systems design, their edge cases, failure modes and lifecycle
• Understand databases and enjoy optimizing database performance
• Are interested in understanding or already know the high volume email marketing environment
• Know your way around cloud services platforms (eg. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Have high standards when working in production both for yourself and other users
• Can debug problems throughout the stack
• Familiar with Linux
• Enjoy mentoring and working with junior team members
