About The Position

Raise is looking for its next generation of Senior Software Engineers. We are solving problems of scale for our online gift card marketplace and are experiencing extremely high growth with challenging problems. Ideal candidates have a proven history of distributed systems design and development and mentoring engineers. We are looking for talented engineers to help build our next generation microservices platform in support our explosive growth.

Engineering teams at Raise have a great deal of autonomy and independence, with real ownership of the products and features they build. This role requires a unique balance of software development skill and product sense—so the ideal candidate will have experience building substantial products or services. If you're a smart, hard working problem solver who enjoys working with team autonomy to completely own a project while meeting objectives, this is the perfect role for you.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of high availability, concurrent, large-scale distributed infrastructures
• 2+ years working with AWS
• 3+ years working in a highly collaborative environment
• Understanding of mobile and responsive web technologies and techniques
• Ruby on Rails is a plus
• Experience with microservices and functional programming is a plus
• Ability to communicate technical concepts, possibilities, and limitations to a non-technical audience (product managers, designers)
• Test-driven development experience
• High attention to detail and constructive attitude in peer code reviews
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable experience
