Senior Software Engineer in Test
SpotHero is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test who will work directly with our Co-Founder and CTO, Larry Kiss. You will be responsible for building out the testing infrastructure and integration, and functional test suites for our entire stack, and native mobile apps.
Who we are: SpotHero is a rapidly growing tech company that’s making life easier for the daily driver. Drivers across the nation use the SpotHero mobile app or website to reserve discounted parking on-the-go or in advance. Awarded 2015 Startup of the Year by Built in Chicago!
What might you find yourself doing here?
We are looking for pragmatic generalist programmers who can not only help us execute in building this out, but also have a real say in our technological direction. We're on a Python/Django stack, with both iOS and Android native apps. However, we're open to experienced engineers with other backgrounds, like Ruby.
- Architect and build out test infrastructure, to support lifecycle testing of our web and native app products
- Lead QA efforts, to guide engineering team to achieve QA goals
- Choose and implement the tools that will be used for automated UI testing (ie Capybara, Selenium, PhantomJS, etc.)
- Lead QA efforts on native app testing. Previous experience is not required, but a scrappy attitude to research and get it done, is a huge benefit
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
- Python or Ruby experience preferred
- Be open to contributing to Open Source, where possible
Lets talk details: Our ideal candidate is a curious engineer, with a knack for finding creative ways to test web and mobile apps efficiently. You are going to be the architect of our testing system. This can (and probably will) overlap with DevOps and continuous integration. If that scares you, this is probably not the place for you. We thrive on having well-rounded engineers that can contribute to multiple domains. This is a great time to join SpotHero since you'll be part allowing our company to grow from 7 cities, to all the major cities in the US (and eventually beyond). We want our products to be rock solid, so having an amazing QA Engineer will be incredibly beneficial to the success of our company.
