Senior SQL Database Administrator
Emmi Solutions is looking for a hands-on Senior Development DBA. This is a multi-faceted role with responsibility for both the transactional and reporting systems. The role will work with and support developers in the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of systems built using both stored procedures and ORM’s. Additionally, integrating with the operations team to bring the data systems into the continuous deployment cycle will be a significant priority.
Responsibilities
Primary duties will be the design of the company’s data systems running on MS SQL Server 2012 and 2014, including:
- Working with stake holders to understand, document, and implement data needs of the platform.
- Working with developers to ensure transactional system meets business requirements and best practices.
- Working with stakeholders to analyze reporting needs to define and implement the data warehouse to meet the needs following best practices of dimensional modelling.
- Working with stakeholders to define best practices for EDI/ETL implements with clients and 3rd party vendors.
- Working with developers and operations team to automate deployments in all environments.
Additional duties will include:
- Mentoring staff across teams on best practices.
- Working with security officer to ensure best practices are met for safeguarding HIPAA compliance.

These skills/experiences are a must
- Five or more years of T-SQL programming Experience
- Five or more years of database design and architecture experience
- Extensive business intelligence experience and thorough understanding of OLAP databases
- Developer support experience and understanding of OLTP databases
- SQL Server 2012, 2014 Reporting Services
- SQL Server 2012, 2014 Analysis Services
- SQL Server 2012, 2014 Integration Services and ETL methods
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Data warehouse design and implementation
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, security issues
- Translating business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs
- Good communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to document work
