The Challenge
Want to help grow a start-up while making the planet a bit better off?
Buildings are the world's #1 consumer of energy and resources, and our mission is to help them use less. We recently completed a $2MM Series A investment and launched our efficient buildings marketplace, Green Per Square Foot.
We're now looking to staff up and fill several key roles, including a talented and passionate Senior UI/UX Designer to help build engaging web applications.

We are an information services company. Through our online platform, we collect and analyze building data, show property owners and managers ways to save, and connect them to solutions providers to retrofit buildings and make them more efficient.
Our approach is differentiated by a focus on bringing people and information together at scale, and simplifying decision-making. Through partnerships with Penton Media and numerous national commercial real estate services firms, we reach nearly one million commercial property owners, managers, and users.

You have a solid understanding of user-centric design principles, development processes, and know-how to create engaging websites and digital marketing. You have hands-on experience using visual design, iconography and typography to make form follow function, and a track record of designing B2B software applications.

Job Description
You'll work in fast-paced environment with the company's development team to create a highly usable and engaging end-to-end user experience.
On a daily basis, you will apply user-centered design methodologies and usability principles to:
- Conduct user research and usability tests
- Create mockups and prototypes
- Design and code user interfaces (HTML/CSS)
- Develop marketing collateral
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in design, HCI or a related field
- 5+ years minimum direct, hands-on, demonstrable experience
- Design portfolio with examples of web UI design work
- Strong experience HTML 5, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, Adobe CS
- Experience with responsive design techniques
- Ability to create wireframes, site maps, navigation flows, and/or interaction design specs for projects to create optimal user experiences
- Clear verbal communication and effective advocacy for user/design concerns
