Site Reliability Engineering Manager
What you'll be doing:
As the Site Reliability Engineering Manager, you’ll lead 9 engineers across three shifts providing 24/7/365 application support of our domestic and international businesses. Our SREs process hundreds of tickets per week, which include application support requests from our operations teams as well as system-generated tickets from our monitoring and reporting tools. We are at the intersection of both business and technology, so we weave between debugging application code, correcting server issues, expanding our knowledge of product and loan rules, and servicing end-user accounts – it’s all in a day’s work! You’ll lead our group of first responders, managing all production issues and overseeing the resolution of all of Enova’s most critical incidents (website downtime, performance degradation, functionality loss, etc.).

Your core priorities will be to:
- Lead, coach and develop engineers across 3 shifts, including remote employees
- Manage shift leads who each have direct reports
- Oversee 24/7/365 coverage in support of our domestic and international businesses
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and quality standards
- Run major incidents; our most critical and impactful technology and business issues
- Work with the product, infrastructure, and engineering teams daily
- Anticipate, minimize, and remove roadblocks
What you should have:
- 4+ years as a manager within an application support environment, supporting and maintaining large web-based platforms
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing large teams, including remote employees as well as managing leads and other people managers
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven record of implementing processes to increase efficiencies and decrease incidents
- An understanding that SRE is a service organization. You are passionate about delivering the very highest quality of support, working closely with multiple product and technology teams
- Proven ability to establish relationships, trust, and respect with stakeholders
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and Go, monitoring and log engines (i.e. DataDog, Big Panda, SevOne, New Relic, Splunk), graphing/stats engines (i.e. Graphana and Mathematica), and virtualization platforms (i.e. AWS, VMWare)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
