Overview of the SMS Assist Internship Program

Looking for an internship? Interested in spending your summer in Chicago working for one of the fastest growing companies in Technology?

SMS Assist is your place! We are looking for 25 interns to spend the summer with us in various fields including, operations, customer service, marketing, business analytics, finance, HR, IT, legal and more. Our summer full-time, paid summer internship program runs from June – August.

As an intern at SMS Assist you will be placed on a team within our business where you can expect to be given real work and produce real, impactful results. Additionally, you will participate in our internship program. Our internship program gives you access to mentors, exclusive trainings, and social events with other interns. Furthermore, throughout your 9 weeks with SMS Assist you will complete a project solving a real business problem. At the end of the internship you will present your solution to our C-Suite and other thought-leaders at SMS Assist.

LEARN:

With internship opportunities in a variety of departments including Operations, HR, Sales, and Training, you’ll be able to gain hands-on work experience in a field of interest. You’ll also be matched up with a mentor who can show you the ropes at SMS and in your career.

DEVELOP:

In addition to the full 2-week training program you’ll receive through SMS University, you will have an opportunity to attend intern-specific courses and events. Learn how to brand yourself, network, communicate effectively in the workplace, make lasting impressions and master your public speaking and presentation skills.

CONNECT:

Through the SMS Assist internship, you will collaborate with other interns from around the world and across different departments to research, develop and present on how to improve our company. Share your ideas, and watch as we implement them throughout the rest of the year. Plus, rub elbows with our company’s executive leaders during our Lunch & Learn events, where they’ll share how they’ve gotten to where they are today.

EXPERIENCE:

As if that wasn’t exciting enough…there are tons of things to do this summer, both in Chicago, and of course with SMS Assist. From internship-specific events like Meet & Greets, our Mentor Matchup Mixer, and our Intern Farewell Party, to the companywide SMS events like our summer party, book club, bake-offs, and intramural sports, you’ll have plenty of fun outside of work too!

Qualifications and Education Requirements for our Internship Program

• Must have earned your bachelor’s degree or be currently enrolled in a college/university.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Must be pro-active and have the ability to operate effectively both independently and within a team
• Flexible and adaptable
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously
