The Role:We are seeking a professional to join 1871’s communications team as a social media associate. The ideal candidate will use social media to improve the breadth, depth, and quality of the organization’s communications efforts on behalf of itself and its member companies. The candidate will also support the communications team in other areas as needed. This is a full-time salaried position.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and schedule social media posts across various channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Provide support for 1871’s Google Adwords and social media advertising activities
- Source communications opportunities for member companies
- Monitor media and update database of press relating to member companies
- Provide additional support on communications efforts as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking
- Experience using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, preferably in a professional setting
- Proficient in Photoshop, with experience designing for the web/social media platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism
- Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Google Docs, and web searches
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
