Sittercity has connected parents with the best babysitters for over ten years.  Every day, over 3,000 new sitters join our service to provide the best childcare across the United States.  In early 2016, Sittercity launched Chime, a new, on-demand babysitting service that's now available in NYC, Chicago, Boston and DC.

We are looking for a passionate individual with 2-3 years of experience writing software to join our team to help us build new tools and services to support the customer experiences for Chime users.

What you’ll do

• Leverage your experience to help architect, develop and maintain services to support existing and new features in Chime. We write software mostly using Ruby and Golang. Some of the technologies used in our stack are Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, PostgreSQL and MySQL
  
• Develop, document and maintain service clients
  
• Pair and also work independently
  
• Write unit/acceptance tests
  
• Receive and provide constructive feedback in code reviews
  
• Release your own code to Production
  
• Work closely with product owners in an agile environment by providing and receiving constant feedback during the sprint cycle
  
• Participate in constructive discussions about software design, patterns, team and processes to identify and propose ways to improve
  
• Continuously learn new technologies and technical approaches to Software development, write blog posts, give presentations, and bring a positive attitude
