Solutions Engineer
Narrative Science is looking for a Solutions Engineer to serve as the key technical point of contact in deals involving complex data within its advanced natural language generation platform, Quill. The Solutions Engineer participates in data acquisition and transformation delivery and may provide oversight and technical checkpoints to enforce standards and quality. The right candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable researching and adopting new technologies, tools, and methodologies as they emerge. The Solutions Engineer provides pre-sales support contributing towards the successful conversion of prospects to customers, ensures a smooth transition between pre- and post-sales, and continues to engage customers to nurture repeat purchases.
Responsibilities:
- Work with prospect's data to deliver world-class product demonstrations
- Provide strategic pre-sales support for sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
- Become an expert in the features, benefits, and applications of Quill
- Partner with pre-sales consultants to deliver successful Proofs of Concept from requirements and design to training and delivery
- Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation and selection process
- Assist and advise prospects and customers on designing a data transformation process that will enable success with Quill, including necessary resources and tools
- Communicate with sales staff regarding sales activities and strategies
- Educate and train the sales force in the features and use of Quill
- Provide proactive support to customers and prospects
- Be a customer advocate and liaison for product management and development
- Support all strategic deals involving complex data and/or data sources Provide ETL support and skills on strategic Proofs of Concept
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical pre-sales or post sales role
- Experience interfacing with clients and good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and projects
- Ability to work well in a collaborative and rapidly evolving environment
- Experience with SQL and other relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Analysis Services, Essbase, Netezza, etc.). Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Data Integrator, Data Transformation Services, etc.) a strong plus
- Experience working with APIs in data formats like Excel, CSV, XML, and/or JSON
- Available to travel 1-3 times per month to meet with clients and attend industry events
