The Swap.com Marketing Team in downtown Chicago is seeking a Senior Business Analyst that will help to shape our marketing and sales strategy by heavily utilizing our internal data and combining it with external, marketing data to derive strategic insights. Your task will be to find areas of opportunity and present clear communication, suggestions and reports from your insights to help the company execute both marketing and operations level strategies. Some of your interpretation and presentation of data will be for those with little-to-no Excel experience, while others will have a high degree of scientific and statistical analysis skills.
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will utilize your strong experience in working with customer and marketing data within the e-commerce or retail industry. You will also act as the pre-owned clothing and consumer products industry data lead for our Public Relations team as well as for media and strategic partners.
Responsibilities
- Analyze trends in the marketplace and within our business to model statistics to help our marketing team gain a clear understanding of what is and is not working
- Communicate insights and recommendations for such things as product assortment, product pricing, marketing campaign effectiveness, consumer profiles and merchandising planning
- Develop and provide marketing recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales and productivity based on analysis and forecasting
- Provide continual tracking, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of customer and sales performance against business goals versus the rest of the market of category and/or customer performance against business metrics and versus the rest of the market
- Provide business, schematic, marketing, merchandising and quantitative analysis, interpretations, and insight in support of company, merchandising, customer, and sales objectives and initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- 3 – 5+ years working with marketing and customer analytics
- Advanced expertise in utilizing complex analytical strategies within the retail or ecommerce industry
- Proficient in data mining from databases with SQL
- Skills in data mining with R, scientific Python or equivalent
- Experience and solid working skills with Google Analytics
- Advanced capabilities in manipulating and extracting results out of large sets of data
- Skilled in Google Sheets and or Excel
- Proficient in statistical methods to develop insights, test hypothesis, and make strong recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in quantitative field
