The Swap.com Marketing Team in downtown Chicago is seeking a Business/Digital marketing manager hybrid to take on the role of Senior Business Manager for our Acquisition team. This role will help to shape our marketing and sales strategy by heavily utilizing our internal data and combining it with external marketing data to derive strategic insights. Your task will be to find areas of opportunity and identify strategy within SEM, Affiliate and other marketing channels to drive new customer growth. You will present clear communication, suggestions, and reports from your insights to help the company execute both marketing and operations level strategies. Some of your interpretation and presentation of data will be for those with little-to-no Excel experience, while others will have a high degree of scientific and statistical analysis skills.

As the Senior Business Manager of Acquisition, you will utilize your strong experience in working with customer and marketing data within the e-commerce or retail industry. You will also act as the pre-owned clothing and consumer products industry data lead for our Public Relations team as well as for media and strategic partners.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends in the marketplace and within our business to model statistics to help our marketing team gain a clear understanding of what is and is not working regarding new customer growth
  • Communicate insights and recommendations for such things as product assortment, product pricing, marketing campaign effectiveness, consumer profiles and merchandising planning
  • Develop and provide marketing recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales and productivity based on analysis and forecasting
  • Provide continual tracking, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of customer and sales performance against business goals versus the rest of the market of category and/or customer performance against business metrics and versus the rest of the market
  • Provide business, schematic, marketing, merchandising and quantitative analysis, interpretations, and insight in support of company, merchandising, customer, and sales objectives and initiatives
  • Leverage and develop proficiencies with SEM tools and resources
  • Work with external agencies and vendors for SEM/Affiliates to outline strategy and provide internal business insights

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years working with marketing and customer analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in quantitative or marketing field
  • Advanced expertise in utilizing complex analytical strategies within the retail or ecommerce industry
  • Working digital marketing experience
  • Proficient in data mining from databases with SQL
  • Proficient in Google Analytics
  • Advanced capabilities in manipulating and extracting results out of large sets of data
  • Experience managing third party agencies/vendors
  • Proficient in Google Sheets and or Excel
  • Proficient in statistical methods to develop insights, test hypothesis, and make strong recommendations
  • Advanced experience in creating audiences for segmentation
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to QA and follow-through
  • Ability to clearly communicate strategy, expectations and results
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively over the phone, through email, and in writing
  • Organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
  • Strong prioritization skills to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work closely within a team structure
