We have an opening within our Product organization for an individual to oversee all content generation at Legacy. As the Senior Managing Editor you will be primarily responsible for leading a team of writers, editors and producers in the timely delivery and publication of all of Legacy’s original content and breaking news working closely with design and social marketing resources.

This role demands someone who can manage to deadlines with dependencies on individuals who may or may not be direct reports. We prize candidates who regularly come up with practical solutions to challenging problems and can prioritize based on user value, business importance, and marketing strategy.

 

Job responsibilities:

-Organize and track the activities of a team of full-time editors who are creating web content. This includes but is not limited to:


  • Setting milestones, enforcing deadlines, and following up with individual editors/producers to proactively drive projects to completion

  • Creating content metrics and regular reports summarizing activities and progress

  • Identifying systemic editorial bottlenecks and inefficiencies and working with stakeholders to solve them

-Create editorial calendars, playbooks, checklists, and production best practices and socialize them with the editorial team. Drive continual improvement in the editorial team’s capability to efficiently produce content that meets a variety of business needs, including market research, SEO, and emerging online trends.

-Work with the Social Media Coordinator and Video Production Team to develop seamless go-to-market plans for all editorial content and coverage.

-Collaborate with designated scrum teams on the evolution of how Legacy content is presented on and off the site and the tools that support all content generation.

-Develop strategies for continuous improvement and growth.

 

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Marketing

  • 3-5 Years of job-related experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Decisiveness, sensitivity, and judgment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
