Responsible for engineering large-scale web applications using modern UI standards, working with agile teams to support the demands of the department and meeting the goals of the product development process.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for delivering results for the Product Development department by:

 • Contributing to an Agile team that solves complex challenges and builds working software

 • Rapidly producing high quality code

 • Being a dependable and highly skilled development resource for peers

 • Staying up-to-date on the latest techniques, libraries, and industry trends for building responsive web applications

 • Displaying attention to detail in building clean, well-factored software

 

The Sr. Software Engineer performs the following functions, in addition to others, in the administration of their position:

 • Encourages pair programming and collaborative design

 • Thinks out loud- consistently communicates ideas to others

 • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

 • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures.

 • Provides development expertise to team members  through education and review

 • Always open to new ideas and encourages innovative practices amongst peers

 • Works collaboratively with QA professionals to encourage defect prevention over detection

 

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Sr. Software Engineer is expected to display professionalism in the following ways:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Experienced in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and related web technologies
  • 7+ years of software development of commercial-grade web applications with a proven track record in a senior role on successful engineering teams
  • Build large, responsive, and interactive web applications
  • Demonstrate a strong command of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of software engineering disciplines, including the ability to work comfortably in all layers of the Application Stack
  • 3+ years experience with C#/.Net, ASP.Net and/or MVC
  • Excellent Knowledge of new technology trends and their application in the marketplace.
  • Full knowledge of and adherence to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of Agile project development methodologies
