We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Chicago team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities across the IT operations stack (systems, hardware, networking, middleware, database and applications). Technical leadership and ability to handle high pressure situations is a must as you will be called upon to troubleshoot and remediate production impacting incidents in real time.

Responsibilities:

• Architecting and managing scalable AWS cloud environments
• Identify areas in need of automation to make day-to-day operations more streamlined and efficient
• Manage and maintain globally-deployed datacenters
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure seamless transition of software from Dev to Production

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with object-oriented scripting – Python and PowerShell (Ruby and Perl a plus)
• Familiarity with networking concepts (VPN, Multicast, Routing Protocols)
• Understanding of continuous integration development (Git, Jenkins, Chef)
• Proficiency with CentOS Linux and Windows Server (2003, 2008, and 2012)
• Working knowledge of the following: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, LDAP, SSH
• Troubleshooting experience tracking down performance, load, networking, I/O utilization, and memory problems
