Overview:

The Planner is responsible for leading the daily planning efforts on an account, is expected to successfully craft a marketing story using data and research, demonstrates high quality execution, and consistently delivers assignments on-time and on-business objective. This role contributes to department processes, larger agency initiatives and focuses on honing strategic planning skills. The Planner is responsible for Intent-based planning support, competitive analyses, integration into media and content teams, insight development from tools and research, project management and execution.

Role Objectives:

Account Management

  • Assumes accountability for planning insights and implementation of Intent-Based Planning
  • Monitors and reports client health, and leads to P&I leadership
  • Interfaces with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and identify and deliver new solutions for clients
  • Keeps senior management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business or department
  • Attends client meetings on ongoing basis, interface as needed with middle management clients during meetings and presentations
  • Independently leads insights, performance and strategy presentations
  • Proactively draws out actionable insights and stories from research and media to drive client business forward
  • Creates formal and informal presentations to win and educate clients, prospects and internal teams

Intent-Based Planning

  • Contributes to developing and implementing Intent-Based planning, Performics’ proprietary communications planning methodology.
  • Expert in all research tool and vendor capabilities, use cases and actively monitors and trains employees
  • Partners with management to identify and prioritize planning rollout on agency accounts. Actively maintains project plans and prepares kickoff material
  • Works with other strategists/planners to conduct analysis for workshop development and output creation, and leads the facilitation of workshops

Intent Lab

  • Works with the Intent Lab team on the upcoming research waves touching every aspect including research analysis, marketing, legal and budget management
  • Responsible to ensure project timelines are on-track and that the final plan is held to best in class standards

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Proactively captures research and strategy impact with the production of quarterly case studies
  • Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration and intellectual curiosity
  • Interfaces with agency departments and leadership and operational departments: legal, accounting, contracts, etc.
  • Supports leadership in scoping of projects, the creation of project plans and ensuring their successful delivery

Cross Selling

  • Understands and explains the features and benefits of all products and services
  • Cross sells products and services to increase account penetration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, concentration in behavioral sciences, brand planning, marketing, social analytics or advertising preferred
  • 3+ years of business experience in Marketing, Advertising, and Interactive Consulting
  • 2+ years of account, strategy or comms planning experience
  • Experienced with syndicated digital research
  • Experience with primary research is a plus
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: User experience design, digital strategy, shopper marketing
  • Great presentation and interpersonal client skills
  • Self-starter; motivated; energetic; Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curious, ingenious and driven to solve problems
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and lack of clear direction
  • Flexible and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
