The Systems Administrator - Audio Video Communications will assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our expanding communications platforms. Lead training sessions on the video conferencing technologies and real-time collaboration tools we use. Own the day-to-day maintenance of our Microsoft Surface Hubs, Crestron conference room Audio / Video systems, Carousel wallboards, and other end user communication devices. Help us evaluate, recommend, and deploy new systems, keep our communications platforms up to date, and help us stay on top of technology for video conferencing and other AV initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Research, test, and advise new communications systems and AV equipment to make our users' experiences better and more efficient.
- Provide training and recommendations to our end users to make sure they are making the most of the technologies we’ve deployed.
- Support our AV systems to ensure they are operating effectively, including Surface Hubs, Carousel wall boards, Crestron enabled conference rooms, and web conferencing solutions (Skype for Business, GoToMeeting, Slack)
- Design, deploy, and support unique solutions based on business requirements.
- Learn from our senior engineers.
- Provide knowledge and support with AV issues to our help desk.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues and make recommendations for growth.
- Keep on top of industry trends and technology.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Surface Hubs or other similar integrated devices
- Knowledge of Creston Systems and ability to learn basic Creston programming
- AV – Knowledge of Carousel wallboard systems and other digital signage solutions
- Networking – Knowledge of networking concepts and basic troubleshooting skills
- Cloud – General knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, or another cloud compute platform is a plus.
- Software – Knowledge of Office365, Skype for Business, Citrix GoToMeeting, Microsoft Active Directory, and Windows.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in order to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- A big picture mentality around solutions architecture and a “keep it simple” philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- General AV and network knowledge needed.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including the ability to communicate difficult technical concepts in a straight-forward, simple manner.
