The Gig:

We are looking for a talented Technical Product Manager to help us develop the next generation of products for one of the fastest growing startups in the Chicago area. We are looking for candidates with strong technical and analytical skills that have experience in shaping the launch of products that convert data into insights. The Technical Product Manager will work closely with data science, engineering, and UI/UX to deliver analytically-informed solutions that help our retail clients optimize their consumer engagements.  This position reports to the VP of Product and will be part of cross-functional team that is responsible for delivering the next generation of MRM solutions.

The Work:

• Shape and position visible analytics based products
• Develop and execute roadmaps and schedules that strike the balance of delivering awesome products while still meeting best-case scenarios for release dates
• Apply a strong cloud computing stack (SaaS, PasS) understanding to identify and communicate solutions, risks, and impacts related to internal and external stakeholders
• Drive technical product planning and feature definition
• Apply deep knowledge of Web services, software development kits (SDK), and RESTful APIs to drive definition of platform interfaces and integrations with 3rd party service providers
• Continuously look for process and technology improvements
• Ability to tackle complex business and technical issues
• Research and analyze multiple product feedback channels to establish feature and roadmap prioritization
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform and improve product strategy
• Write product briefs and specifications that are reduced into epics, stories, and related artifacts
• Develop, maintain, review and disseminate all project-related documentation including status reports, schedules, and performance indicators

The Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software product management, with particular emphasis on launching new products that convert data into insights
• Well-rounded knowledge of key software development areas including requirements definition, functional specifications, technical design, development, test, build/deploy and systems engineering
• Knowledge of predictive analytics and data visualization
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field of study
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, preferably in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment
• Experience managing agile work environments
• Ability to communicate and write in a succinct, clear, and effective manner
