What You'll Do:


As a Technical Product Owner for Data Processing, you’ll work on a cross-functional team to identify and drive initiatives that will help our platform evolve. You’ll work collaboratively across the Product Development organization to ensure the delivery of performant, reusable, enterprise-grade products. You’ll draw on your technical background to align the needs of customers and end users and help to develop a product that solves real business problems.


Responsibilities:



  • Work across the entire product development organization to understand current challenges with building and deploying software

  • Provide opportunities to solve needs through better tools and processes

  • Advocate for the needs of the engineering team

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog by leveraging open dialogue with your stakeholders and seeking constant feedback

  • Analyze data to measure impact of delivered software and guide improvements

  • Lead the discovery of new software products that solve complex client problems

  • Articulate value and prioritization rationale across the organizational and client spectrum, to those with technology experience ranging from the occasional user to the principal architect to the C-Suite


Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years in product management, with an engineering and development background a strong plus

  • Ability to see the “big picture” for a software product and use strategic thinking

  • Comfortable making real-time autonomous decisions when conditions change, based on understanding of the user context, business objectives and client needs

  • Demonstrated record of success in defining strategic product roadmaps, as well as inventing and launching successful features

  • Fluency with business strategy, user-centered design, service design, and collaborative execution paradigms (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and project management skills

  • Ambitious self-starter with a passion for making technology enterprise-ready

  • Execution oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment


Preferred skills:



  • BA/BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial startup environment

  • 1-3 years of programming experience

  • Working knowledge of:


    • Object-oriented programming and/or Java (preferred)

    • Structure and usage of REST API’s

    • Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) and Event-driven Architecture (EDA)

    • SQL and/or noSQL solutions: Cassandra, HDFS, Postgre, and Elasticsearch (preferred)

    • Python and R

    • Continuous Integration tools

    • Security Protocols


  • Previous work with data integrations or ETL

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
