What you do:

In this Technical Trainer role, you will assess, design, deliver and support training content for engineers at Uptake. You'll be responsible for designing an onboarding and continuing educational curriculum that builds on the skills of our already talented team. You’ll have an opportunity to combine a passion for teaching, with enthusiasm for technology, to drive learning and establish positive customer relationships. You will have excellent communication skills and proven technology training experience. This will include the following:

• Facilitate training sessions for clients and internal teams via classroom and webinars


• Working with key partnerships and internal Stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective training content of technology platforms


• Work with management to assess the existing and emerging training needs for a large engineering department


• Help maintain build and setup scripts, as well as documentation, across several codebases


• Manage the onboarding and team placement process for incoming engineers


• Recruit, support and coach internal SMEs in knowledge-sharing activities


• Assist in other departmental needs as they relate to ongoing education

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required


• Strong development and technical background


• Knowledge of modern software develoment with Agile, a focus on testing, continuous integration and service-oriented architecture a plus


• Development or technical background is a plus


• Excellent oral presentation, written and communication skills


• A strong “stage presence” and ability to manage a classroom of adult learners.


• Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills


• Self-sufficient, self-starter with proven success taking ownership of training projects.


• Ability to travel 10% to 25% (as needed)

Nice-to-haves:

• Knowledge of Java and/or Angular.js
