As Technical Writer, you will develop contextual and instructional content to drive the user experience, advancement, and adoption of the Uptake platform. You’ll have an opportunity to combine a passion for writing with an enthusiasm for technology to establish intuitive language and interactions throughout our software solutions, resulting in a thoughtful and positive user experience. Technical writers require excellent communication skills and are well versed in technology, industry, and product implementation.
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and propose appropriate guidance and solutions
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product, user behavior, and documentation requirements
- Create robust in-product language architecture, solution instructions and support documentation for product implementation
- Work with key partnerships and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective communication
- Maintain technical knowledge as the subject matter expert
- Write clear and concise procedures
- Set standards regarding order, clarity, style and terminology
- Explain technical ideas in clear, simple language easy to understand by the layperson
- Assist in development of technical voice in internal communications, presentations, and external facing blog
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, development or equivalent
- Experience in technical content strategy and/or writing of software documentation
- Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly and make them easily understandable
- Excellent oral presentation, written and communication skills
- Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Self-sufficient, self-starter with proven success taking ownership of projects
- Technical support experience
- User experience and industrial workflow knowledge
