Job Description

We’re looking for a web application UI/UX design lead who will dive in and learn our clients’ industry, design tools to solve their unique challenges, use stakeholder input to make decisions, and is passionate about great design and usability.

Responsibilities
•Take ownership of the end-to-end product user experience, including interaction design, information architecture, and interface design for closerlook’s products
•Work with clients/business users, as well as internal stakeholders to develop IxD and product requirements
•Facilitate product discussions and design studios with product team and clients
•Invent new ways for non-technical users to perform tasks that facilitate data discovery, visualization and analysis
•Create team deliverables (including user flows, user stories, wireframes, visual design, clickable prototypes) that enable software developers to build software that fosters a delightful user experience
•Collaborate with product sponsors, project managers, developers, and designers throughout the product lifecycle
•Contribute strategically and tactically to evolving market-driven, user-centric products and product marketing efforts to ensure our employees, and clients remain aware of our product(s)
•Lead user experience research and usability studies
•Stay abreast of new and innovative trends in the IxD and front-end technology discipline

Job Requirements

•3 -5 years of experience in a UX / Interaction design position
•Deep understanding and awareness of how IxD evolves – understand what is feasible to create with current technologies, design using current guidelines (e.g.: Google Material Design), and be aware of emerging trends
•Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
•Skilled at creating product documentation and deliverables using design tools such as InVision, Sketch, Axure, UXPin, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator
•Strong collaborator with proven ability to effectively rally and inspire executives and engineers equally
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
•A portfolio of software products with distinctive user experiences
•Experience with responsive design
•Understanding of front-end development technologies (Bootstrap, jQuery, D3, Angular, etc.)
•Experience designing advanced search and filtering interfaces is a plus
•Familiarity with data visualization techniques and best practices is a plus
