- Job Description
UX Designers advocate for our customers, designing interactions for a variety of products and audiences. Using sketches, storyboards and prototypes to communicate and sell our ideas, UX Designers refine requirements, test interface’s effectiveness and collaborate with departments as part of a cross-functional team.
Our UX Team:
Our UX Team works right alongside our teams in operations, analytics, accounting, marketing, and even recruiting. We are expected to fully understand what we are trying to design as a company--then make it possible.
We are constantly driven to work harder and learn new things not from some top-down initiative, but from the feeling that we owe it to our peers to keep up with their growth. We have passionate debates about technology with consensus in solutions, flexible team structures, an irrelevance of title in problem solving, and a desire to Do The Right Thing.
Our culture defines who we are, and who we aspire to be. We want you to be a part of this culture at Enova. We speak this language:
Our application stack includes Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL, and Debian. As a UX Engineer, you’ll be comfortable interacting with engineers who use Rspec, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Haml, SASS and CoffeeScript.
We work to stay on the cutting edge of the latest design implementations and practices. We encourage and appreciate individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge about UX design.
And yes, we’re Agile, use TDD, and everything else process-wise you’d expect of a modern fast-paced technology-driven company. By now, we’re sure you’re looking for the next hot waterfall-development firm, but we’ll stick to what we know
This is where YOU come in:
As a UX Designer you’ll be a day-to-day contributor to UX-conscious, maintainable interfaces while working collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization. You’ll participate as we negotiate scope and go from high-level business requirements to specific architectural needs.
You’re right for this job if you:
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing UX/IA/HCI
- Have a degree in Design, Art, Computer Science, or Engineering, or related discipline
- Have designed web applications
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
- Use Git or other version control systems
- Are comfortable with prototyping tools like Omnigraffle and Balsamiq
- Have conducted user centered metrics, testing, and research
