InContext Solutions is a cutting edge provider of 3D virtual reality simulation software that enables confident decisions within the retail ecosystem. We use the latest in video game technology to recreate life-like shopping experiences, and use them as a vehicle for visualizing and testing an almost limitless variety of in-store concepts and variables – from signage to new product packing, to interactive displays and completely reimagined retail experiences. It allows our clients to identify opportunities for growth, reduce cost invested in evaluating these, mitigate risk of failed investment and get to market faster than traditional approaches.

We are looking for a User Experience/Interaction Designer with a strong interest and capabilities in the design and development of engaging user experiences. This person will help lead the overall design and user experience of ShopperMX, our proprietary 3D virtual reality software platform. This person should have a passion for the product development process that has designers sitting front and center. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. The candidate should also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative product development organizations. The key responsibilities include:

This person will report to the CTO and will be part of our Product Development Team.  Day to day, this person will work closely with various members of Product team as well as with senior members of various cross functional teams including Sales, Research, and Creative.

• Taking part in all facets of the product development process, including user research, interaction design, wire-framing prototypes and low/hi-his.
  
• Acting as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, user research and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
  
• Developing wireframes, visual mockups, behavioral specifications and personas
  
• Conducting end-user research, prototype testing and usability testing

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of product design experience in SaaS software, web applications, and/or 3D applications that leverage emergent technologies
  
• Strong design leadership skills with the ability to leverage experience to bring new approaches
  
• Strong conceptualization ability, visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
  
• Exceptional design and problem solving skills, production value and attention to detail
  
• Ability to create wireframes and mock up comps
  
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and associated design tools
  
• Experience working closely with development team in an agile framework
  
• Familiarity with common user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
  
• Ability to create and implement dynamic style guides and design standards for whole UI framework
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver design solutions to internal and external stakeholders

Bonus Points:

• 3D modeling, After Effects, rendering and animation experiences
  
• Prototyping skills or front-end development skills of HTML/CSS
  
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design or related design field
