savvo Stuff:

Did you ever stand in front of the wine aisle and wonder what to get?  Well the overwhelming majority of people experience the same problem!  savvo is solving this by matching shoppers and wines at the critical point of decision making using touchscreen wine recommending kiosks.  savvo is becoming the shopper’s trusted guide, the retailer’s best employee, and the wine supplier’s most effective customer acquisition channel.

We are a growing startup with a commercially viable product, paying customers, and a huge market opportunity.   We are currently developing version 2.0 of our kiosk software and we need some help from a UI/UX designer with experience creating successful user interfaces.  We (think we) have a lot of great ideas, what we need to add is the experience and wisdom of a professional to mold and improve on these ideas, as well as bring their own!

Project Stuff:

  • Work with our developers and business team to achieve goals and drive the savvo vision
  • Make recommendations on our current UI design and interactions
  • Create a simple and intuitive shopper log-in experience that makes shoppers want to take the time to enter this info
  • Assist in developing an overall brand strategy and Style Guide
  • Potential future projects: design mobile app and web portal components, integrate with social media platforms, integrate experience with retailer’s loyalty programs

Skills Stuff:

  • Our software is a web application running on an iPad, so knowledge of and experience with iOS 7 Human Interface Guidelines (not a native app but the touch gestures have to mimic an iPad experience)
  • Experience working on mobile, web, and (hopefully) retail/kiosk interfaces would be super awesome
  • Expertise in HTML/CSS/JavaScript (an ability to implement what you design would be even awesomer but not required)
  • Ability to transform ideas into wireframes and mockups
  • 1-3 years professional experience in Experience Design, User Experience, or Interaction Design; experience in ecommerce wouldn’t be a terrible thing
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your visual or UI/UX design talent
  • Likes to work in a lean and agile manner (hey, it’s a startup, we need be able to react quickly!)
  • It would really help if you didn’t hate wine

Sound like you?  Let’s talk!
