UrbanBound is hiring its first-ever Vice President of Sales.  This individual plays a critical role in leading and executing Chicago-based UrbanBound’s aggressive growth strategy.  This role will be responsible for revenue growth, market penetration and sales strategy as well as day to day management of the sales team.

The targeted candidate has a track record of leading the sales function to substantial, rapid growth, especially with a new-to-market product or solution.  This sales leader is an expert at building a strategic selling team that can qualify, nurture and close deals worth $10,000 - $250,000 annually. The candidate is experienced at building sales processes, including data-driven metrics that drive optimal decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement

  • Opportunity to build your own sales team from the ground up

  • Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to define and manage sales team budgets

  • Work with Sales Operations to define the optional Salesforce structure

  • Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets

  • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives

  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required

  • Build upon current sales infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function

  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and manage with data proactively

  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions

  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs

  • Help manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities when needed

  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships

Qualifications

  • 10 years minimum experience in building and managing enterprise level sales teams

  • Proven track record of leading and driving successful sales plans that meet or exceed targets

  • Experience selling enterprise software solutions or services to Human Resource departments is strongly desired

  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking and time management skills

  • Experience in coaching and training is required

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
