What you can expect to be doing:
You will lead your team of software developers to build and deliver high quality voice applications. You will be responsible for growing the teams’ existing skill set and helping individuals with their career growth. Also, you will be responsible for ensuring successful collaboration among customers, project managers, designers and operations. At any time, there will be multiple customer efforts in progress at different stages of their development life cycle and you will be asked to contribute, at varying levels, to any of the activities from pre-sales activities to production support. On a daily basis, the most important responsibilities you will fulfill are to:

Lead and mentor new and experienced software engineers
Motivate your team to continuously improve their craft
Communicate with internal business stakeholders
Communicate with external customers
Assist in project planning by providing solutions and estimates
Work with a wide range of technologies that integrate solutions with customers
Transition solutions to the internal platform team

What we need to see from you:
To be considered for this position you must have:

5 -10 years of proven success in a software development role
Strong leadership skills
The ability to communicate with developers and business persons
Experience with VXML and Call Center Telephony
Prior professional experience with Java, .NET, Ruby or other OO languages
An ability to solve complex problems in a short amount of time
A Computer Science / Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Ideally you will also be able to demonstrate

Experience using MVC frameworks
An understanding of multiple SDLC practices
Experience with automated testing
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux/OSX

Will Tangney’s workdays involve collaborating with various teams, brainstorming with peers and tackling robust projects. Currently, he’s working on developing Hydra, the company’s multichannel conversational AI platform. “We’re presently working on our next major release, which will add many exciting features,” Tangney said. While he’s motivated by the Hydra project, he’s equally energized by a new tool utilized in the company’s tech stack: the GraalVM Native Image compiler. This technology improves application performance by optimizing resource utilization and hardens application security.

I enjoy having so many people to brainstorm with, as it enables everyone to further understand problems and identify potential issues ahead of time.
